The Great Bathroom(s) Debate
Hi All,
As we're pretty close to knowing what we're going to do with our kitchen (thanks to the wonderful contributors of this thread) we're now moving into design mode for our two upstairs bathrooms (main and ensuite).
Our thinking is most baked for the en-suite although we have had a basic crack at the reconfiguration of the main also. Current and "proposed".
For the ensuite, we're thinking of enclosing the toilet in the bottom right corner with a false wall if the space permits (privacy so someone can use the shower at the same time).
Would absolutely love some thoughts on whether we're on the right track / or other ideas to make use of the large spaces. We're struggling with the main in particular.........
Will post some pictures of the current state of these aged bathrooms shortly after this post in this thread.

Comments (22)My bathroom, powder room and laundry are all 80's and are salmon pink with exact same bath and cabinet as yours. I have been wanting to update since moving in and don't know where to start either. Comments (3)Tiles are such a personal choice! Bathrooms are small spaces and no need to limit yourself in terms of creativity. If you want resale value however, white and bright is great. But if its personality you're going for, get creative! Comments (21)I’m sure you can convert that space. Just need plumbing and electricity. You will have to get used to walking outside to laundry in all weather. personally I would of left the laundry as part of the bathroom. But I never use a bath.... The way I sort all my colours on the floor of the laundry, and sheets and towels, an outside set up would never work for me. Comments (14)It still seems like every single 'transformation' has the before pictures taken on a dark day with the lights off , and stuff spread everywhere , and the after with lots of white and 20 lights turned on -- newsflash -- it will look lighter and airier ! It looks like quite an 'intelligent' upgrade , utilising the existing doors and mouldings and things , with modern cabinets and fittings and the like ( the entry is too white IMO , and in fact they could all use a bit of colour highlights IMO ) but keep it honest , and shoot the 'after' photos under the same conditions as the 'before' . . . . . . . ....See More

3 years agoI would prefer to keep the WC separate to the Bathroom as you have 3-4 kids? who will get bigger very quickly, having a powder room downstairs won't help with the morning rush to school., But it's your house so I have added a pocket door between the WC and Bathroom. I have also taken that small robe space for an extra vanity in the WC/Powder room. No width dimesion given for the WC
The ensuite could use that extra entrance space as a sit down makeup and hair bench for your wife.
