Is the other side of the wall the bedroom?

if it is, has it got a window in that room?

if not then legally it can not be bedroom. I am assuming there is no window otherwise why separate with a a glass petition.

if there is a window in the bedroom then contact a carpenter. They can remove existing wall and rebuild a stud wall with insulation and sound proofing. Maybe only install one door to the side, this will give better workable space for both rooms.

Hi Josephine, can I suggest offering a little more info with your query. The wonderful people from Houzz will, I’m sure, be able to offer some sound and smart solutions but may be just wondering why you don’t, for example, just change the doors to something solid. Is it, as dreamer wondered, that the other room doesn’t have a window? Is it a single storey where a small window and a skylight could be a solution? Perhaps include some more photographs, a bit of a plan with measurements and other connecting rooms, information on the structure, and a bit about your budget and whether this is a long or short term fix. For instance, as an addition, it most likely won’t be load bearing, so getting a builder to dismantle and rebuild may not be as dramatic as you might think. Or it could be that frosting and soundproofing film might work, an internal sliding door, as you have the room, or plastering the wall and moving the door ..... Lots of options, and I don’t have half the skills of most of the people on Houzz, so repost or add more detail in the comments. Cheers

The other side of the door is: kitchen, living room and the rest of the house.
This bedroom is located on ground floor.
Picture was taken standing in the bedroom that has three windows.
Initially the space was used as a private sitting room to serve tea, which explains the design for a lighter softer appearance. It has now been converted into a downstairs guest bedroom and needs reinforcement.

Load bearing: none are load bearing, the structure is just a wooden frame from wall to wall.

Fix: long term fix

Budget: not sure what a project like this would be however would like to get it done for less than 2k

Measurements: 2600x2700

Find a carpenter to do the job. I think $2000 should be a reasonable budget.

Is it a bedroom that is used all the time , or a guest room or similar ? I suspect the worst offender is the glass , so as dreamer says , maybe go to one or two solid doors , and even get some perspex and glue it along the top windows -- make your own double glazing .

After that , you'd need to add insulation to the walls -- from your description , if you removed one 'panel' ( side of the wall ) it sounds like it would flex or worse , so at that stage you'd probably need to knock down and do a solid 50 x 100 framed wall , and plasterboard ?
