Hi Blufitch, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The four coffee tables are lovely, but I would probably opt for one of the two top ones. That being said, check the measurements first as these round tables might be significantly larger than your existing Ikea table. Re the potted plant, a taller one would be better, or you can put this one on a plant stand or even on a ceramic stool. But if you feel a mirror would be too much due to your mirrored splashback, leave the plant as it is and hang a framed print above the plant. It doesn't need to be big, but it's important that it s not too small so it doesn't look too "lost" on the wall. It's hard for me to judge the size from here, but a 70x40 frame might be ok. You could have only the yellow canvas above the couch, but you would have to bring in a few more brightly-coloured cushions or throw onto the couch, to compensate for the empty wall. Alternatively, you could also hang a large mirror above the couch. If you decide to do this, I think it would be best to move the canvas back to where it was, and hang the mirror in front of the window, so it reflects the natural light around and gives more depth to the room. The large Ikea Stave mirror (in white stained oak) is very reasonably priced and would work great. Just double check it fits first (it's 70x160)! Tell us how yo go! Beige/ivory and porcelain/light blue tones work well with light grey as they are neutral. Lighter, neutral tones can create an impression of a larger space. Since you have a small space, you would want to make the space appear bigger than it actually is, and not smaller. You can use accent pieces with standout or brighter colours like cushions, lamp shades/bases to liven up the space against these neutral backdrops. Hi there. How lucky are you to be able to redo an area for yourself. The floors are great as that will bring a real modern feel to the house. Make sure you keep it light and bright as you said the home is small and small homes can look very tiny with large furniture and dark colours. The blue sofa will be a striking and very comfy addition to the room. West elm is great with rugs as is pottery barn but west end is a little modern (they are owned by the same place). Try to add white side tables with striking blue decor to make the sofa pop more. If budget allows i would change the table to a gorgeous light wood. Add some amazing cushions to add the homely feel best of luck

Personally if I were to put a runner down the area I'd keep it either plain or a very soft muted colour palate maybe with the grey and natural colours as right now it looks quite classy so you don't want to make it to bold or in your face just soft and calming for the area to enhance it all as one look. I don't really think you need one at all as I love the softness of the area as a whole as it is, sometimes less is more but it once again comes down to personal taste.
