awkward mast bedroom
Comments (2)Seems like a generous space, but it does point to the bed being on that only back wall, it just means not much floor space to get around it. So side tables might be out. With these windows framing the corner, it would seem to me a nice focal point, and this is where I would have a chair, maybe a retro dames or Parker style chair and some large art on the bedhead wall. You could still fit a dresser or chest of drawers on the wall into the bathroom by the looks of things, tall narrow ones, and have hanging pendant lights either side of he bed. They look stylish, are practical and save floor space. Making the design emphasis space and light. Sheer your windows on a ceiling track system with generous fabric length for day and have. Roller block out blind for night....See MoreHelp finishing off the main bedroom
Comments (7)You have done a great job so far! A small suggestion, but a dark throw across the bottom of the bed before the seat. Like mohair to give another texture. I would avoid any more of a Baroque feel, it could just slip into looking over done. Like the sheer curtain idea, but maybe have a chintz look side curtain too (non functional, to again create depth). Maybe nothing behind the bed, but soft image on the other wall next to the door, something like a foggy landscape, with a lone tree, so your looking into the image, avoid too ornate a frame, maybe a dark frame so in contrast to the mirror. Replace laundry basket with a softer rattan, limed look. The wallpaper idea is worth considering but tone on tone. Also the current bedside lights are taking up too much room and are the wrong colour shade. I would replace the bedside lights with sconces, raising them will lighten the area, giving some space to the room and beside the bed too. Small shades, in a soft feminine grey chintz (similar to doona) or do the other way - go darker, with dark brass metal work, maybe even some crystals, in a smokey glass, just a touch, might be bead work. Therefore maybe changing the chandelier to dark with smokey glass, I would presume it would draw the eye to it as a focal point. I do love your dark candles. I think the room would benefit from a few darker tones, creating a little more drama and romance. Best of luck!...See MoreMaster bedroom, wardrobe, ensuite design
Comments (11)Agree swap locations for all reason stated sounds like a good idea. Straighten hall way. Get some natural light into the corner room, at least a skylight if you can't add a window. bring the Master bedroom door down the hallway to near the utility door. This will make the area more useful and you could move the access to the first room, whether wir or ensuitte, off the hallway. Play around with options. Alternatively Could think of moving bed to where u show wardrobe. So many other options. Good luck...See MoreHelp with main bedroom / WIR / ensuite floorplan please
Comments (12)Thank you so much for your comments and great ideas kiwimills , Pleased to Bijou Design , Leeder Interiors and oklouise . I agree with the door at the end of the bed being a better and more convenient position. Originally I had not included it there to access some of the light from the other window (obscure glass slider), and to avoid the feng shui coffin position with feet facing the door. On further reading I might be able to remedy it with a tall solid bed-end and blanket box/bench. I can see how walking through the WIR each time would be a pain. An alternate ensuite plan (below) as also suggested by Leeder Interiors. I wasn't sure if I had enough room for this... it would get me a larger vanity 1200+ rather than 900. Not sure however what: the recommended distances from the vanity front and toilet should be ? minimum width i need to have for the toilet space (between the wall and slider opening) ? If not, the extra bench space over the cistern also sounds like a good idea. Thank you...See Moresiriuskey
