I recently decorated our beach condo on a budget. Items to consider are bowls or clear glass vases with found shells displayed. Sisal rug and woven baskets make a coastal feel. The baskets are great for storage as well. I used white light and linen drapes found at ikea.Because of small size of room, i have glass tables to help maximze space. I am adding shutters found at a flea market as headboard for guest bedroom this year. I found many useful items from community sales. I frequent local beach decor shops some pricey to get ideas for arranging and adding items. I would put couch so can look out window to garden. Put it floating in the center of the room, Tv on wall. Two chairs sort of where they are now in photo. Small table and chairs located near door and kitchen. Looks like not much space there but look at ikea furniture as it is for small spaces. One ikea table is shown to be against wall and then pulls out to enlarge, it might work for you.

I agree, too many neutrals. Pare it right back, e.g. Remove brown cushions and add some colour. Even the bowl is neutral where a splash of colour would help in the bowl or replace with bright coffee tablebook etc.. How do you get behind the couch? Could it be moved forward? Can you replace the black blinds as I agree they do dominate, otherwise could try adding some black cushions to support the small bolster on couch and to pick up the black theme, lift it all with a bright graphic cushion and print on wall. Cheap way to play with colors is to grab some wrapping paper in your favourite colors . The hall landing again take something out, how do you sit on the chair with a book on it? What is the purpose of extra sheepskin? While the items all go together they appear to clash with the floor, although that could be the photo, and I am not sure what the hero is? The throw on the chair or the mirror or rug? Good luck and post some updated photos

I love all this feed back - thank you ladies & gents :) I do think the light and flow would probably work better like oklouise's first post - I concede you are both right. My concern was the depth of the shower - we have a very pokey one at the moment but think I see how to rectify that - tell me what you think? Also I want LOTS of storage and think keeping the storage in the activity with the entrance now up the other end would limit the furniture layouts so I would probably keep that in the entrance hall and still use the nook as is - no doubt they will sit there to do their makeup as the light will be amazing BUT i can imagine the mess will not - haha! I LOVE those doors siriuskey- so grand and impressive but my husband is a lay in bed TV watcher so that would possibly take up too much wall space for his liking - again I giggle ( you have to right?)

The simple whites are what I like, the lounge welcomes you to get comfortable and spend time and lose all the distractions, giving you a chance to refresh and refocus. The TV art on the wall is the highlight and draws your attention, and hides its personalities. Is it a TV at all?, Overall I chose number 9 for its simplicity and comforting feel with no clutter and with one piece to comfort the body and one piece to stimulate the mind.
