Weather-proofing the ends of a pergola

User

The Houzz community is great at improv and ideas. We'd love to get some ideas to cost-effectively weather-proof the triangular, slat ends of our pergola.

After we installed a fire, we've found we also use the area a lot in the cooler months. Outdoor blinds provide sufficient protection from wind and rain, but it would be a lot more effective and cosy if we could prevent heat loss (and cool air entering) via the slats at each end.

In an ideal situation, whatever goes up should be removeable - so we can take them down and benefit from the breeze during summer.

I've priced aluminium louvres. They're way beyond the budget. A customised acrylic panel (either clear or white) has been suggested. Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated. Fire away!

I've included a pano shot to show both ends in the one pic - the structure doesn't really bend like that.
