This was a very exciting kitchen renovation project which resulted in completely renovating our very dated kitchen with cream profile doors and bright terracotta orange laminex benchtops and terracotta floor tiles with cream tiled splashback and gas hot plates.

Our dated kitchen was relatively small, lacked storage space, and had minimal bench space with a highly dated servery and a limited fridge space. There was also a sliding door entry next to the fridge, into the room behind which was a very small formal dining room space.

My challenge as an Interior Designer was to transform our kitchen by updating the design into a modern and functional space, with increased storage and bench space, along with working to a budget and incorporating luxury with quality finishes.

Some of the main features on my wish list that I wanted to include in the new kitchen design included new cabinetry with an appliance bench and 6 under bench, soft-closing drawers, and overhead cabinetry. The sliding door between the kitchen and very small formal dining was completely closed in and the very small formal dining room which was seldom used was converted to a home office and study. This allowed for a much larger fridge space with overhead storage and cabinetry. This appliance bench was finished beautifully with a polished Calcutta ORO porcelain splashback and LED feature lighting.

The porcelain splashback was selected to create a sophisticated look and feel, as well as its great functional heat resistant properties making it a great product for benchtops and splashbacks. This product is available in both silk and satin finishes.

Brand new appliances were installed including a transformation from a gas cooktop to a stunning modern 900mm electric ceramic cooktop with digital control, a new stunning white wall oven, a white Blanco sink, BOCSH dishwasher. The cooking zone was completed with a beautiful, polished Calcutta Oro splashback with a stunning golden vein pattern.

The small benchtop and the high dated servery were removed and the kitchen opened up by extending the width of the bench and installing white Caesar stone benchtops.

Finishing touches included copper tapware and 3 copper pendants with dimmer switches to control the light and ambiance of the Kitchen. To compliment everything we also added new manufactured flooring to provide the look and feel of timber.
