Tossing around ideas for main bathroom reno.
Comments (6)Thanks for your feedback ... I love the idea of the grey grout but worry it would make too much of a feature of the subway tile ... Would prefer to use towels & pictures to feature ... But will give it some thought ... I find it interesting about the negativity of the subway tile when it seems to be featuring in all the current home mags ( not the architectural ones which seem to focus on concrete, timber & stone)...See MoreBathroom Reno help needed
Comments (3)Hi Thank you for your suggestions. The Tiler has been very helpful and has sourced some 10mm chrome metal strip to silicon to floor to act as a barrier to contain water runoff. It looks ok and is the least invasive option to cutting into new floor tiles to put in a grate drain. Comments (22)Great work Tracy. As a first time DIY(er) you have inspired me to tackle my early 80's ensuite! I REALLY want to paint my daggy tiles but I've had so many people advise me against it saying that they will scratch and wear far too quickly... Have you found this to be true with yours??...See MoreBathroom Reno - Looking for ideas!!
Comments (8)hang a wide mirror or artwork over the panel above the toilet..install a support screw on either side to support the hanging wire from two sides points not from the panel itself...consider a bench in the laundry with a drop in sink and more wall shelves and put the washing machine taps under the bench and relocate the power point but we need accurate dimensions of the bathroom and laundry to be more specific but mostly the bathroom needs careful choice of fixtures to feel more spacious but you should consult a plumber, waterproofer and tiler (and/or a specialist bathroom company) before making any decisions about the shower as you'll need to replace the flooring and that will help decide which style of shower would suit best..a walk in shower would look great but there may not be enough space for adequate slope for the floor so a freestanding shower stall might suit best but the window could be a problem so lots to research...See MoreSucheta & Matt T-G
