Hi all Just thought I'd give an update. Even though hubby and I discussed with each other that we will wait til we move in to get a dining table. Hubby went back to the store where we bought the sofa set to buy something, then he went ahead and bought the matching dining set because he got a good deal for it. Oh well. Just read this post today, spiders done really bother me but I do kill the wolf spiders here. Living in a rural area you see all kinds of creators. Last summer I went to pick my dog up from his godparents, when I looked down in the passenger floorboard there was a good size black snake(good snake), all coiled up resting nicely. I went to my friends house to get a golf club to get it out, but the snake had gone up in my dash. After I drove home, I call the local vets office, they had no idea what to do. So I called the local Nature Center and they could not tell me what to do. First I tried blasting the radio with Heavy Metal, hoping that would bother my visitor and it would leave. Did not happen! Then I turned the heat on high, open the car doors, kept a vigilant watch, after a while I saw the head come out and final the black snake left by the passenger door. Me being there did not bother it in the least, moved over to my raised flower bed, stretched out, about 5 feet long then went on his way. Two weeks ago we were installing a new waterline and the guys saw the snake where they were working. They picked it up and move to the field across the way. Later they were discussing something and the black snake came back, went right between the two of them like they weren't even their. FYI Black Snakes kill copperheads and rattlesnakes, which we all so have. I prefer the Black Snake any day.

Are you combining a good way of sitting with a good design? If yes, arm rests are nice, when a dinner takes longer than 1 hr or so. It helps if there is a cushion available that people want to use where the back of the chair is rounded (and people prefer to sit upright). Under no circumstance should the seat slope backwards. The sitting level should be flat - no slope. The cushion can carry a lot of design and colour suitable to the environment. I love simple chairs .... and it helps not to put too many chairs around the table.... (unless you have a big family), have two chairs against the wall somewhere close. Sit on chairs before you buy them. (And a personal thing: I LOVE different chairs. Never more than a pair of 1 design) - like in the picture with the2 green armchairs and the bench. That is just great and suits different situations and guests. (To siriuskey...... I would sit on the bench)

You have done extremely well! I think the couches and white rectangular coffee table are great. The things that worry me are the 2 small round tables, the 2 occasional chairs you have now, (though I can see they are lovely chairs, but at different heights and styles that causes a distraction), plus the nest of tables as they don't go with you lovely rectangular coffee table between the couches and the placement of them. I feel there maybe just too many small tables in that immediate area. Looking at the style of the nest and the taller round table, maybe if you stripped back the tops of the nest of tables and painted the legs white so that they match up the other round table they would work together, but remove the small round cane table in the background. I do like the taller occasional chair more than the low one and would try to find one similar. The low chair might be good in a bedroom. To have a higher back chair especially as we get older can be a good thing for guests that drop in and when you are needing to get up and down quickly as the hostess, (good for our backs and our take off). I think introducing cane though it is light weight and that is a good thing, might just be adding too many textures if you want a calm plantation style room. It would have to be a fine cane, maybe featuring the wove rattan sides. Taking another look at the chairs they are both nice chairs but I think you need 2 of the same style. I like the fabric that features the muted lime and black and linen look in the cushions, just that small use of it as a complementary fabric is great. I am wondering if you are able to raise up the palm so it is higher, and used as a more decorative element. I am wondering where your couches came from and the mirror too, if you can remember.
