Lighting Bedroom

We recently moved into our house and we want to paint our master bedroom a muted blue and change the light fixtures.
The problem is the only lights are the two wall lights that is high up the wall. (One on the left when you enter the room and one next to the door to the bathroom) Is the current positions doable or do do we need to change it? We have brick walls.
We are going to replace the ceiling fan with another one.

Any other bedroom suggestions welcome 😉

Agree with bigreader re your lights, quite like your bedside lights, add a seat and floor lamp to add a stylish look to your room, some great artwork, a rug under your bed for warmth and a new overhead fan… gorgeous

The wall lights don’t add anything to the room. I’d look at removing them. Make sure your new fan has a light, then keep or update your bedsides and add a corner lamp as well. Put all the lamps on a timer or get smart globes.

Either material can be made to look and feel beautiful, but the photos show the worst of both. I love baltic birch plywood with exposed edges, but it must be sanded smooth and clear-coated with a satin finish lacquer or urethane. Concrete (my passion and my business) can be tinted to give it a warmer shade, and either cast against a super-smooth surface or polished to make it smooth. Bedroom walls need to look and be touchable. The ones in the photos give me the shivers.

Hi Katrina, there's definitely a few options to choose from! Depending on the size of the room, you could install 2 or 4 down lights. We advise a down light every 2 - 2.5 meters. Hi Sue, I love the swing arm lamps , they look beautiful and are great for reading and they are easy to adjust for your use, once you have chosen your lamp sit or lie in bed and position and fix lamps at the height that is comfortable for you and give the best light.some inspiration photos for you.

Yes I am buying new bedside tables and a rug for the bed and new curtains.
Love all of your ideas.

Be careful if you are buying a fan with a light integrated. The light itself is often pretty useless and it can be very difficult to change the globe so those are 2 things I would recommend you investigate before you settle on a design.

Re the fan ,make sure that you get one with LED and CCT function which will give you a choice of warm , daylight or cool on installation . I like daylight but my daughter likes the cool bright white . Warm is too yellow for me . Some also come with a dimmer on them and a remote . Go to a lighting place and ask them to explain it all .Many fans now come with an integrated light which can be replaced if needed . With your wall sconces also get LED and a dimming function .

Make sure that your fan is bought with an extender rod as that fan is too high . Again the shop will help .
