Tv wall dilemma
Comments (14)I only mentioned the wood thing as I think your flooring is a fantastic statement piece in itself so would either maintain the tones up the wall or maximise it with simple white lines and lighting but I am a minimalist at heart! Not a professional designer and am simply just providing an opinion. Honestly the choice is yours as far as blending light and dark, just consider the tones with each as sometimes they clash - but if that's the look your going for than all good!! :-) Maybe just start by moving the TV to the wall - you'll see a huge difference in just that. Make sure you get the height right for the best viewing otherwise you'll kill your neck! It may be enough for you to reduce that 'bare' feeling your getting before doing anything else....See MoreLounge and Dining Room facing water views - where does TV go?
Comments (11)I have solved this problem by creating more than one seating area in the space which Depends on the size of your living area. I set up a couch - with a good looking back facing the window with the view. I included two adjacent chairs and a small coffee table. The other set of couches and a feature chair are also facing the view but more focused on viewing tv. It is important that you choose furniture on legs otherwise the solidity of the furniture can break up the room too much. Looking at your plan could you hang a tv on a wall on the side of your stairs. One thing I have found with an awesome view - TV becomes less important - 40 inch is big enough - TV size has got a bit out of control! Some other comments - think about placing your wardrobes next to each other to create a sound barrier between the bedrooms. If you do this make sure you put sound proofing between the bathrooms. I note your plumbing location is fragmented which adds to your expense. Will your garage obstruct your view? Think about having a sliding door access from the bedroom to the back deck hope this helps...See MoreNot sure where to place tv and couch
Comments (11)(overlapping posts but doesn't change suggestions especially need for locations of doors and windows) to make space for a 55" TV i would swap rooms and make a media room with a wall of cabinets to include the TV, music, books etc and have a roomier dining room with extra small lounge chairs that can be rearranged when you need seating for more than 4 to watch TV..the lounge could be a sofa bed with a storage coffee table for bedding but best size and placement of all furniture depends on measurements and you will use an accurate plan of the whole apartment (including exact size and location of all doors and windows for choosing furniture, floor and window coverings, appliances, built ins, kitchen cabinets etc etc so if you can make a rough plan showing the distance from the windows and doors to all corners i can make a more accurate plan for you...See MoreTV’s and Fireplaces, do they mix?
Comments (5)I'm not sure if that is your house , or just an example ? In that picture , I'd get a bigger TV ( because why not ) and mount it further along the wall , and spin the L shaped couch around so that it sits in that corner , the fire is near , the TV can still be seen from the couch . And depending what the climate is like where you are , and if you have other heating , such as heat pumps etc , you might only use the fire 3 or 4 months a year , plus the occassional night when you have visitors and want to project a warmth haha -- rest of the time make your family go cold , or use a $20 fan heater haha ....See MoreK s
