Maybe a ‘rusted steel’ paint which would be a bit darker rustier shade than what you have already, and with more texture. Would give a natural materials feel, to go with timber railing of deck. Bunnings has one or two brands - you have to buy a second tin of treatment to make the paint look oxidised. The Pasadena project in our Houzz portfolio has a house featuring actual rusted steel cladding - beautiful autumnal / earth tones.

I'd suggest pictures would be really helpful -- as well as colours , the overall look and even shadows play a part , as well as gardens and what I call the overall look . The other thing is repainting over already painted bricks -- I've never done it , but will it successfully take and last ?

You say you want stain ideas for garage door. This seems unusual, because usually garage doors are not painted, they come in a colour made in a factory. Do you just mean colours. I would suggest Dulux beige royal for render. Colorbond Evening haze for garage door. Then a cedar stain for front door. Or the front door could be any colour really. Maybe Evening haze to match garage door, or even a red front door.

I can't get the picture big enough to see how the sponged finish actually looks , but at the size I've got it at , I actually think the problem is the garage door -- it looks plasticy and fake , basically not even pretending to be a timber colour , whereas the feature has a cedar look . So my cheap fix would be to do the garage door in a cedar finish . If I was doing it myself , or even getting a professional , I'd try the sponge effect , so some of the lighter fake colour won't overly matter if it shows through . But if you don't want to do that , or do it and it looks crap , then sand with an orbital sander , and paint the door in a metallic finish paint as close to the grey panels on the left as you can ( dreamer suggested that , but she thinks do the feature , I reckon the garage door would be the go ) . The other possibility would be to do the garage door in the dark charcoal of your windows , but with the door already in that colour , it may very well make the downstairs look 'heavy' . Of course , the other option is to go for the Wow , and do the garage door the brightest Sunshine Yellow or Citrus Orange as you can find , and really stand out in your neighbourhood ! I'm being 100% serious there btw -- it would really suit the house .
