There is a long window narrow window by the way, next to the corner shelves, so don’t want to go the full length for the splash back window.

Yes I think 1400mm is small for the central kitchen space. But it depends on the space you have available. Also depends on how many people are using the kitchen at the same time. With your plan, someone doing the dishes would not give a person cooking at the cooktop enough room to stand comfortably. I would move the sink, DW, and bin across to the left, so the corner where sink is on your plan, is not so tight a space. I and many others grew up in a kitchen the same size as yours, it will always work, but be cosy for more than 2 people.

are all your cabinets fixed sizes or custom made, do you plan on having corner cabinets and depends on how many people will use the kitchen at the same time?

The long narrow window in vertical. And sorry, I should of added that everything is moving down. The sink is not in that corner.

All cabinets are custom made. We aren’t having any corner cupboards, no. We are having a cupboard on the other side of the breakfast bar, near the long vertical window I mentioned, that utilises that space.

1400 should be ok unless you have a crowd needing to work at once every day but i would consider having the sink further away from the corner to have more counter between sink and stove for a prep ie a 900 wide cabinet accessed from the outside

Window is a long vertical window, about 900. The whole room is 5100 wide x 7500, which includes our dining area. There is a walking space of about 1 metre from fridge to a wall, which opens
up to about 1400 down near the breakfast bar, where you see that panel, which is the benchtop continuing to the floor (waterfall) the dining area is behind the breakfast bar. 4 bedroom house. Rough photo attached, green are the renovations we are doing.
