Timber direction for consistent flow

Hey,
We are having to lay floating laminate floorboards in our home.
We are wanting the one style through the whole house. As in direction the plank is laid and no differences in the rooms.
I know you usually run the longest length of the room, but does glancing from the doorway affect direction you run the planks?
I'm sure I don't want the bedrooms different but I think it's almost required because of the way the rooms flow from the doorways.
Has anyone picked a direction and stuck to it through the whole house, or do you always follow the room length?
