How did your marble backsplash hold up through the years?

I’ll be doing my kitchen reno soon and in the process of choosing materials. I love the look of calacatta gold marble and would like to do a feature wall, tiled in brick bond subway tiles at 30% offset. The induction stove is in front of the splash back. I do lots of Asian cooking, sometimes stir frying but most of the time steaming food. The builder and tiling shop has discouraged me to use Calacatta as it’s more porous than other marble, grease will still manage to seep in even when using premium seal.

How has your held up through the years of using it?
