Californian Bungalow - covered patio or garage studio conversion?

Hi we are looking to landscape the rear garden of our 1920's weatherboard bungalow and build in some additional outdoor seating area. There is a double garage on one side of the garden and a cubbyhouse (now well and truly outgrown!) on the opposite corner. The rear of our house has a quite small existing deck (~3x4) off the back of the house (north facing). Budget is a consideration ideally <$30k.

Like to hear views on whether to:

(i) adding a covered outdoor seating area with deck (~3.5*4.0m2) to the rear corner of the garden - this would then face the garage but would this close in the backyard too much?

(ii) convert the brick garage to a studio (and storage for tools etc) with only some limited flexibility to open up an existing window with sliding or French doors

(iii) place an uncovered decking area to the rear corner and convert the garage to studio to open up on the garden

(iv) place an arbour or similar over a new deck

we considered about extending the house by converting a bedroom to an office and building more of an alfresco dining type area but concerned on cost of this.

Thanks for any suggestions.
