false wall over internal brick walls

In my 1960s apartment, the powerpoints have been built into the skirting boards. I want to not only move the existing powerpoints higher up but I also want to add an extra one in each room.
As every wall in my apartment is solid brick, I understand that the only way to do this would be to put a false wall over the brick wall and run the electricals up through the gap between the two in order to get my extra powerpoints and position them I want.
So my question is- how thick would the false wall need to be? Nothing would be attached to/ hung from the wall so it doesn’t need to have fancy reinforcements.
If there is a better suggestion for how to work with this dilemma, I’m all ears :)
