need help choosing tile colour to match new kitchen design
Comments (24)I think it is good to mix up the warm and cool colours. We have warm furniture too so its just the walls that are cool. I even have a beige/stone coloured curtain next to the grey wall and it looks so nice. Because this is an open plan room do you think those type of tiles will be too busy? I always go for plain things but i can see how something like that would look really good! This is one big room with lounge, dining, kitchen and french doors that open to a massive decking. I will post a pic of the whole thing when the final benchtop and tiles go on...See MoreYay or Nay?? Colours - Thoughts??
Comments (35)Dear me!! I didn't want this to turn into a name calling discussion. I don't mind reading people's opinions, I quiet enjoy reading different peoples likes/dislikes. We all have different tastes and we are not ALL going to like the same things, obviously! All I wanted to know, was if the colour of the cupboards matched the colour of the benchtops...that's it! Didn't want anyone to turn nasty about it :( Anyways...hope you all have a great weekend :)...See MoreMix your own paint colour? Thoughts....
Comments (5)Hi, just thought id update everyone on the outcome of the paint. Went to Inspirations Paint (they are a Dulux specialist and matched it exactly) but got it home and same result - paint was completely different colour on the wall, way too brown-yellow and much darker in colour. Perfect when painted onto a piece of primed timber but completely changed when it went on the wall. In desperation I decided to start again and bought other sample pots but all with the same problem - if it was a beige tint it turned out deep mud colour on the wall and if it was a grey colour it threw purple on the wall. Both the hardware and Inspirations Paint feel it was a faulty batch of sealer that was affecting the paint colour. We had already used 30 litres (bougth both 15lt from the same place at the same time) so it was too late to re-seal again and so we purchased a couple of sample pots from white/neutal swatches and finally found one that was similar to our desired paint colour when applied to the faulty sealer. So... in the end it seems the primer/sealer we used on the new gyprock was the problem, and what a headache! But thank you all for your help...See MoreConfusion with colors for kitchen joinery, benchtops etc - thoughts?
Comments (4)Basically , black and white is lazy , and has been done to death . Of your two inspirational pics , I'd go for the brown one any day , even though IMO the doors look too cheap and plasticy , but it has more colour and character , the stone is way more interesting -- in a good way -- and I think not only will it make a better impression now , but also in 20 years time . If you can get the doors to look like they have a few percent of wood in them haha , not just a plastic and adhesive and sawdust mix , it would be even better ! Similarly , that folded perspex on that hood looks tacky too , and personally if considering it , I'd go glass or ( preferably in that colour combo ) copper , with lights to tie in -- maybe just me , but why spend $20k or $30k , and then save $2k and look tacky ?...See Moredreamer
