Wall art? Mirror? What would you put above the bed?
Comments (27)To Ella Kate Thrupp....."a woven piece"...as in a wall rug or a tapestry suggested by yours truly and Tribbletrouble441452k7 Trek? Or maybe you have a more novel idea in mind? Have you come across any "woven" art in your professional travels? I have a friend who actually weaves tapestries on a loom as they did centuries ago thread by thread. They are exquisite and each a unique artwork. She works professionally on commission Very time consuming, meticulous and expensive and she also does it simply for relaxation and sells them. Wonder would there be anything along this line available commercially today? Such a "woven piece" would make an enormous impact in any room, so beautiful and unique in a bedroom especially if a design woven to order...but Yikes $$$$$. Afterthought...a painted MURAL designed to order might be a touch of luxury if you engaged somebody to do it and they presented you with a series of pictures for you to choose from.....that would not fall down! I did one for a friend's guest donga in Charleville QLD...she wanted a fantasy and had a lot of input herself, it was a collaborative effort and she got exactly what she wanted. Can't go wrong with a mural...can always paint over it when you want something different....See MoreDulux grey feature wall - HELP me choose 1 of these colours please...
Comments (30)Silk would be interesting, not to mention elegant. As for paints, the Silver Illusion appeals, but it might throw green (not sure). I also agree the Tranquil Retreat is a good one. I'm wondering how big the feature wall is, and what is going on this wall, eg TV, fireplace, large artwork, etc.?...See MoreWhat bedside tables would suit?
Comments (9)Personally I like the ones you have but I know about storage issues, your room has grey tones so I would go with that if your couldn't find something in white. White always looks clean and it allows you to change the colours in your room, at a later stage without changing your cabinetry. I do like the chest of draws idea suggested by someone above - it was what I had thought of before I saw their photo - the low but wide ones in grey. You have plenty of room for that and it could make your room look wider. For me the eye sore in the room is the ceiling light fixture. Something modern / perhaps glass or a large circular pendant could be perfect....See MoreWhat type of bedroom furniture suits this room best?
Comments (24)Hi laura_85 Your room looks lovely and the architecture looks classic 60,70s with high vaulted ceilings. You could furnish with a retro vibe with mid century modern inspired bedsides (see below) and I would recommend a contrast to the timber with an upholstered bedhead. Keep the furniture and bedhead shapes in a streamlined design to be more modern. A bed base on legs will keep an open feel to the room. An accent chair is also a great addition to the space- the butterfly chair suggested would be great. Add plenty of textures (bedding, cushions, throws) in neutral tones to soften the room. A couple of small prints above the bed will finish off the look. Consider the window furnishings as well in your selections. These triangular windows are tricky and limit your choices. Best wishes...See MorePel Rix
