Natural ventilation in skillion roof!
Comments (5)my understanding of how a skillion roof works is that it will actually move air the other way and vent on the high side. So you can build level walls and put a row of louvres above the wall on the high side for ventilation. You will need windows or vents on the low side too to bring the air in....See MoreShoe Storage
Comments (3)Sandals and thongs should not smell, but if they do then wipe them over regularly with a little disinfectant in the water or some Nilodour. Joggers and slip ons should always be worn with socks, sockettes or stockings which will help control odours. Try to wear predominantly cotton socks as these will absorb perspiration better. Most brands of joggers can be machine washed and should be done regularly. Always ensure shoes are completely dry before storing too and when possible dry them in the sun. There are sprays on the market to help odours but I have never used them so can't comment on them. Do deal with the odour issue, it is not healthy for your feet....See MoreHow to store shoes at front door?

If it is for yourself, I'd store the shoes nearby (i.e. in the laundry if that's near the front door) as that entry is stunning and I think any furniture would take away from its beautiful simplicity. If it's for guests, then I'd consider getting a small stool and basket / box for when guests come over. Something really simple, but convenient for them to remove their shoes and pop them in the basket / box until they leave....See Moreour shoe drawer design is taking off-double the storage and access
