Comments (10)I think go for some ethnic textiles and fabrics... give it a boho vibe! This space is very unusual and anything too sleek and modern would look odd. Definately not black leather! I think go for 2X 2 seater plus a few armchairs rather than a large monolithic sofa. That way you break up the bulk of the sofa and can play with the arrangement a bit. I think maybe having the armchairs mismatched with patterned finishes would look good. And then the 2 seater couches matching. Perhaps in a navy blue or burgundy, but I like the use of mustard yellow, pink, grey and burgundy in the linked room. Then look for a large imported rugs, either from India, pakistan, Iran or afghanistan. Rich patterns would look great. That will give you a square/rectangle shape to arrange the seating around rather than the walls....See Morecolour coordination dilemna
Comments (7)Thank you . Just needed a confirmation I wasn't off the rails . White and very pale grey were in my sights. Will do white cabinetry and the tile will be a veined white background for walls and floor. Hopefully in 6mths time I can post the fruit of this collaboration....See MoreWe have to select colours for our first home. It's very confusing .
Comments (6)Hi Houzz User, Applying a white finish anywhere externally would never be recommended - it is very hard to maintain, and due to our climate you will notice plenty of glare! Greys are in fashion in the designer world - consider using different tones. White tiles are not hard to maintain - dependant on the finish you select - ie, gloss, matt etc. We would never recommend a gloss tile again as they reflect so much light! The more rough the surface, the harder to clean - we would never recommend something too slippery for your main living areas though. Grey tiles are a fantastic option, they hide a myriad of sins as well! Consider a feature wall of the same floor tile [with a gloss finish] to run up one feature wall behind your vanity, and a standard white subway tile for the remainder of the walls. Timber laminates also look fantastic against these two colours!...See MoreColour coordination of couches and carpets
Comments (5)you could also use a rug to contrast as well if the two are too similar.. depends on the room if it's a tiny one you'd want a lighter colour.. I've just googled blue and grey palette to get these ..you can do the same and it will give you idea which shade to go for... a lighter blue or charcoal...See MoreGary Sharp
