Character Villa with bad extension - should the extension go?
Comments (20)oops with the diagrams.. Note that the "shed like" part of the extension joins onto what must have been the original lean to that extends all along the original villa part. Note the pillar in the living area, that is structural. Another strange aspect is that the toilet juts out into the open plan space ( I think that could be remedied with $$s and it could fit into the main part of the family bathroom by taking out the old corner spa and putting in a smaller freestanding bath for example) . By the way, the "retreat" is actually a courtyard that could be a nice feature if properly landscaped etc. A new roof (to get a new roof line) might work on the shed like part, but the walls around the west and southern perimeters of the space are just windows/doors so I don't think they could support the weight of a "proper" roof rather than glass? Can you see that plan well enough and what info do you still need OkLouise (and others)? Thanks again for any ideas :)...See MoreNew front door ideas
Comments (16)Hi Love the double doors! Beautiful and very grand. Good look. IF the crimsafe must go back on, how about double security doors? Yes double the cost but only one has to be crimsafe? The other balances the space and it only needs to be secured into the space in front of the glass? It could be said that the extra security door makes the entrance more secure as well as no one can break the glass. And perhaps they both can be painted ( or purchased) in a colour that will compliment your new entrance?...See MoreWould love ideas about roof over front door. Too many roofines
Comments (12)Thank you so much for everyone's thoughts, it has honestly been very helpful. We are going to consider going right across the front of the house and over that problematic front door. Going to consider going across with the same space as we originally had going straight out. I'll keep everyone posted as I so appreciate all the help!!...See MoreMoved into a new place and have no idea how to decorate!
Comments (4)Do you need to fit a table between the sofa and the kitchen bench? If not a sofa table against the exposed back of the sofa would be a good addition. I’d also add white s-fold sheers from wall to wall, ceiling to floor in front of the blinds. Plus a 4x3m rug. Have a look at Lost Design Society. You need a proper TV bench that mirrors the width (as much as you can) of the sofa. You don’t have room for a coffee table. But between the sofa table and your existing two small tables that would give you a place to sit down a drink. You also need 2-3 art pieces behind the sofa that again match its width. What type of art do you like?...See MoreLyn Wood
