I would dearly love some guidance.
I have a lovely natural stone tile on the floor throughout the house - including in a bathroom. ( Photo is to show the tile.) I am now doing two bathrooms. One is roughly 3m x 2m. The other is small - approx 2m x 2m. When purchased, the house had too many stiles and no clear direction. My main goal has been to create flow and unify the the ‘olde world’ front half to the modern contemporary back. As such, the bathrooms need to ‘talk’ to the tiles used elsewhere. Do I use the same gloss tile - floor and walls with a white feature or a similar look tile in a matt? Should I do a feature wall to either design? (I love the Kit Kat tiles.) I am looking for timeless, luxury, elegant.

Comments (7)I recently decorated our beach condo on a budget. Items to consider are bowls or clear glass vases with found shells displayed. Sisal rug and woven baskets make a coastal feel. The baskets are great for storage as well. I used white light and linen drapes found at ikea.Because of small size of room, i have glass tables to help maximze space. I am adding shutters found at a flea market as headboard for guest bedroom this year. I found many useful items from community sales. I frequent local beach decor shops some pricey to get ideas for arranging and adding items. I would put couch so can look out window to garden. Put it floating in the center of the room, Tv on wall. Two chairs sort of where they are now in photo. Small table and chairs located near door and kitchen. Looks like not much space there but look at ikea furniture as it is for small spaces. Comments (11)Hi Tammy, I’d like to suggest that you include measurements on your drawing, perhaps draw a version on scale paper. That way your elements can be placed in the room in the right sizes/proportions, this would give you a much better feel for the space requirements of each item & show where you have empty space that could be put to better use. At this stage, without the correct scale, your sofa & table look a bit small, the bed a bit large & the shower a bit long. Do you have access to any home decorating magazines?. Often they have stories on home renovations which include layout drawings. You could cut out the furniture, bathroom & kitchen etc elements in these layouts & play around with them by placing them in your room. 2 years agoWhen I was renovating I saw a great post of a designer who used a marble tile and a brick look tile next to each other (between the hall and laundry) and it looked very nicely done.
