The house pic just shows what can be done -- the base colour is the worlds most boring grey ( in fact , it may be an optical trick due to the materials , but I suspect the 'middle unit' and the terrace walls are a different shade of boring ? ) , the mustard or caramel or whatever you want to call it really sets it off ! The roof is interesting enough to probably even be done in the same mustard -- that would be a Wow moment ! -- but I assume it is still in the silver , which is a good compromise ! If it is silver roofed , I'd like to see the gutters and trim around the roof done in the mustard too -- it only needs to be 60-80mm wide to make a statement !
Personally , I'd also do the support piles in charcoal stain instead of the natural timber , but maybe that's just me .
LOL Pottsy! Design brief: I'd like a plain house, spartan features, painted in world's most boring grey. Like a lovechild of a 60s weatherboard & a canvas tent.
Actually , the house itself is quite interesting -- at least 2 levels , pitch changes in the roof , pieces jutting in and out .
I do seem to recall army tents in drab green ( may have officially been called olive haha ) with mustard canvas strengthening sown around the edges though -- so next colour change for this house , I've got it covered !
Of course , you'd need a camoflauge net around base though . . . . . . . . . . . .
I'm interested in chatting with some people currently in the renovation market for research on a new platform that will tag roof materials and colours and show you the closest property with that product. If you are interested in looking at a prototype please email me at greg@whobuiltthat.com.au. Thanks.
