Agree with Deanne - consistency as always is the best option Frames typically/traditionally will be all the same colour, and if you want to pick out the door differently in a bold colour then go for it, but keep the frames the same and it won't look out of place. I'd also also consider lightening/freshening up the flanking inset panelling too. I also wouldn't be scared of painting the entire door black to make more confident design statement. The photo you have given is of a single unassuming grey door in a red wall with white or a light grout. There are no distinguishing features whatsoever. It says to me... "I don't want visitors. I don't want to be found. Go away. Don't come any closer!" If this is truly your front door [and I have no reason to doubt it], Nitegalaxy, you are in big trouble if you think a coat of paint is all that is required to bring visitors in. If paint is all you can afford, then if it were me, I'd perhaps stick with the grey. It wouldn't be my first choice but at least it does stand out from the red. You could try a white door - boring I know - but the red brick is so dominant that it makes introducing colours other than greys and whites all that much tougher. Instead, I think I'd widen your train of thought a little more. Can you lead visitors to the door by introducing colourful plantings either side of the footpath? Frame either side of the door with hanging plants. If plants aren't your thing, try some art works. An arty neighbour of mine, hung a large resin coated picture of flowers on her front wall to help visitors to find her front door. It looked wonderful and was quite unique. Is it possible to build a pergola or a canopy over the door to help define the space more. Funky artworks or oversized bright pots could also work. If money is not a problem there is another option. Completely replace your front door. There are some wonderful glass options on the market with bright scenes sandwiched between the layers. too many for me to mention here but look on line. Good luck

Thanks for your help so far.. I have had some chats with the builder, he said it's not prefarable to remove the top section and put window to match others, as you'll be spending alot more money doing that on something that you may be able to cover and not notice. I woke up this morning with an idea. What about if I move the front door to meet the middle of the porch (this has been something commented on before on here, how the door is really tucked away and not noticeable enough) , do some panelling or rendering in a dark blue/charcoal colour. Then use that same effect where the sliding door is surrounding it, including to the top. I have done a little mock up so present my ideas... I could even do the same on the front window to carry the theme, or that might be overkill, i think it probably is..... Rendering would obviously be the easiest, or even just painting those sections of the brick... Don't want it to look too higgledypiggledy.
