Painting the exterior of a weatherboard house
Comments (14)The Dulux Stepney is a nice grey and would look great with the trim in Dulux Lecicon, you could paint the lower timber in Dulux Raku or Domino to ground the home. Grab some sample pots and try a few boards and some trim areas to get a feel before you purchase the paint for your complete home. Browse some of the exteriors in the Houzz photo's area. Don't forget to let us all know what you decide to go with and post an after photo for all to see. Happy painting Regards Paul Wales...See MoreIdeas for modern extension of weatherboard home
Comments (4)One of my recent projects was a glass and brick contemporary extension that was built as a separate pavilion and linked with a small glazed link to an existing Victorian weatherboard home. The break between new structure and old structure worked well for different floor levels and roof structure. My clients were thrilled with the result. https://www.houzz.com.au/projects/1093664/modern-addition-to-victorian-home Here is a photo from the glazed link showing the lightwell space between the old weatherboard structure and the new brick structure. A consistant colour scheme ties the two halves together visually. If you are at the early stages of thinking about an extension it is too early to try and visualise it. Once you have provided a brief and defined a budget to your designer it is their job to resolve an appropriate design solution, present it to you, and communicate the design intent, with enough drawings so that you can visualise it. There is no point in trying to visualise expensive glazed white bricks for your extension, when your budget dictates painted, lightweight cladding! Comments (5)With such a large house I think it would need some other darker colour along with white to help "ground" the look. Also, as mentioned above, pure white on an exterior looks very glarey - surfmist would be perfect. I would strongly suggest getting a colour consultant to help with such a large project - and get some mock-ups done with different colour ideas....See MoreWeatherboard House Advice
Comments (2)I'm interested in chatting with some people currently in the renovation market for research on a new platform that will tag Brands of paint and colours and show you the closest property with that colour. If you are interested in looking at a prototype please email me at greg@whobuiltthat.com.au. Thanks....See MoreJared
