Suggestions for lounge room revamp
Comments (50)ok hubby tucked in bed now. where was i? this is gonna sound crazy, but i read this once and adored, just have not gotten enough jeans yet. a woven jeans rug! but not the old timey wrap in a circle type. This is like those pot holders we used to make on a loom...you know you go over and under, I can only find the pic on pinterest, and they won't let me download. I also like recycled leather like belts, maybe you could them as an edging. I would make my rug square I think. i am also constantly trying to come up with ideas for old ties. You get them cheap enough and they can be so cool. but you have to mix them with something?...See MoreL-shaped lounge room/dining room - help please!
Comments (5)You could flip the living 90 degrees to the left, making the tv along that longest wall but aligned more left obviously. Depending on how much you wanted to spend, you could invest in joinery which incorporates the tv and books, which then also adds massive amounts of storage. Could be too long of a space for this set up, but stretched out a little with a nice rug it could work well :) please show us pics when you decide!...See MorePlease help with lounge room design...
Comments (23)Also love the buffet....it could be the "hero" of the room. It is beautiful and they are so hard to come by at a reasonable price. I have a much cheaper style mid century buffet and initially had the TV on top of it, but now the TV is wall mounted above it. The distance between the wall and the couch wall is about 4m and we have no issues with the TV being too high...you definitely need to factor that in if you wall mount it though...luckily I had a handyman friend helping me, otherwise I would have put the TV too high. With the TV being mounted, it actually makes the buffet more of a feature and anything that is put on the buffet is now "displayed" instead of being part of clutter with the TV. It looks great and I know yours will too if you wall mount the TV. That is the great thing about the mid century buffets...they seem to fit in just as well as modern furniture as they do with the classic furniture....and because your is "classic", it will never date...a great investment....See MoreStuck with ideas how to furnish a lounge room
Comments (16)Hi there! Just jumping in to offer a bit of advice about the dining room rug: As the chairs will be constantly moving around on top of the rug, you might find that a jute or a synthetic rug would wear very quickly. Your best bet is to choose a material that wears well and is easy to clean such as wool. Opt for a short pile height for under dining tables - they're not only easier to clean, but its easier to push your chair back over a thinner rug than a thicker one! In terms of size, guests should be able to push their chairs back from the table without going over the edge of the rug, so to get the best size, measure your table, then add approx 60 cm. It looks like you might have limited space around your dining table - if you're looking to place a rug, maybe see if you can place the table a bit further out from the wall. For colour choice, opt for a darker colour if it works in the space, as its much more practical when it comes to spills and stains! Hope we've helped :)...See Moremacyjean
