we are stuck with what to do with our living area. The angular walls are making it difficult to position a tv and family friendly lounge etc i would like to eventually fill in the bar but that walk is also on an angle!
Hi Joe, if you are not going to use the bar you could place a tv on a stand on top of the bar and use the two solid walls opposite to place a sectional facing it. Round side tables or ottoman would soften the effect of the angles. The tv & stand would face the corner of the opposite walls for easy viewing. The two angled sections of bar/wall would meet behind the tv. You could then furnish the space towards the entry step down with some comfy chairs, coffee table & round rug to create a separate conversation area that ties with the tv area. Later, you could plaster the space above the bar. Your tv would still sit in front of where the two walls meet however it would enclose the family room, look more finished and stop you from looking past the tv into the bar area. Congratulations on your home, I think houses with different floor levels look amazing.
