French Doors for passage ways

Hi there,
My wife and I are about to pull the trigger on installing the attached French doors in passage ways that are currently open on the ground floor.
The purpose is to limit the sound that travels upstairs (far too open plan).
The question I have is whether there is too much glass in these doors and whether it will allow sound to still travel through?
We're not wanting sound proofing, just closing out the areas so we don't feel like we have to whisper at night when the kids are asleep
The glass is 6.38mm.... which is higher than the single standard
Thanks guys
