I'm keeping the chairs original as they are pure wool. Yes, I'm thinking lighter floors and I will either paint the book shelves in the Island bench white or charcoal (see third picture) I'm thinking some open shelves in light wood and timber lights too. I'll post some pics of inspiration. Until we knock the wall out, I'm a bit stuck to do any more. It's still just a work in progress at the moment

My suggestion is first talk to the builder to see what instructions he gave the tiler as i'm sure he doesn't want a dissatisfied client. Most tilers will check with the builder before grouting especially when a colour is not specified in a contract. I would then ask if the grout could be replaced, from the looks of it it will only be a couple of hours work. There is nothing worse than having to look at something you are not happy with. I would not use the paint product as it will alway look like it is covering a mistake. White will look better. Make sure the mixer body is waterproofed or you will have a leak in your wall, the membrane should lap onto the body from the wall if it is done well. All the best.

Thanks Nicole!! We actually went for white grout too in the end, and stacked them (mid century modern house, we thought it fitted better overall). I agreed with you that I wanted the detail of the tile to shine, not the shape of the tile. We still need to paint the rest of the room, etc., but I'm pleased. We had them sealed and used a supposedly more stain resistant grout (Davco Colour Elite). We loved the designs so much we put the 150mm blue jeans version in our pantry!! Thanks again for your reply. The orange modular is a huge statement but you recognize that there is nothing to “connect the pieces together” a simple abstract art piece showcasing the orange, grey and white , black will “Tie” your theme together and place it just about the lounge on the large white wall.. remember not that small so think scale! Your lounge is large so I think a portrait size piece ( hung vertically not landscape) approximately 300mm above your lounge would be a perfect addition. If that is too hard for you to imagine perhaps a bowl on the coffee table with hints of orange grey and white to connect the elements.. Your missing a degree of “softness” some texture so rather than cushions ( which I don’t think ever really work with a leather lounge) perhaps a textured throw combining your colour scheme.. no solid colours... Just a suggestion is the art piece below! If you can’t imagine print a couple of images from Pinterest on A3 paper do you can see if you like the style of painting!
