Decking colour- sample pics - help needed

Please help me choose a colour of Ekodeck. There are six colours to choose from. My flooring inside is light grey, I have Praline bricks with white mortar. I'm steering towards a wood colour because I want outside to be a natural sanctuary. We don't have a big backyard but the decking will be 5.7m x 6.1m which is larger than our grassed area so whichever colour I choose will dominate. Out outdoor furniture is dark grey, our fence is Woodland Grey

I like backbeach. I think it would add light, and it's fairly neutral and complements all your other finishes. Leatherwood is very warm, Alpine ash is very cold. If you want to go darker, I think either of the dark colours would be fine

We used spotted gum for our decking and love it! We got it for $4.25 linear metre from Masters (any lengths that were inferior they were happy to replace). Our deck was built next to our near-white pavers so merbau was out of the question due to its leaching (plus we also were wanting an eco-friendly local hardwood if possible).

As a minimalist I would forego all plants, put in a low wall and use slumped glass or preferably glass block. This would let in the light and also make a cosy seating area in winter. I've found glass block to be a wonderful insulator on a west facing wall - warm in winter, but keeps out summer heat too. This would also extend your living area, keep out flies and mozzies, and prevent you seeing that awful roof next door. You could also take the shadecloth off the windows leading on to that deck, which would be a bonus. I'm not a fan of shadecloth, and would always look for an alternative solution

What about Merbau which is yellowy/brown - remembering that most timber weathers to a gray colour unless you keep up staining and/or oiling. You could have a look at Ekodeck which is a bit more expensive but is a composite decking that claims not to warp, splinter or crack nor does it need oiling. Head on down to your local timber yard - the guys there if you can head down at a quiet time are super knowledgeable and very helpful. Good luck.

I also like Backbeach . It seems to blend in and not stand out or look too dark . The dark furniture will look good on it . If your fence is Woodland Grey then that is enough dark colour .

I think if you are after a natural vibe the leatherwood works well with you other colours and will read more like ‘natural’ wood.

My friend has a house similar colour to yours and also painted the fence in a dark charcoal, firstly they had a light coloured deck which looked lovely but this year changed it to a charcoal and it looks stunning, it’s really a matter of what works well for you .

Thankyou for your replies everyone. We ended up choosing Riverbank Red, and I must say it's looking stunning so far. I'll include a picture, but the deck is very dusty from the feet of the workers (me, lol) but I'm super proud of what I've done so far

The closeup is the true colour. It includes the electrical for the deck lights I decided to add. Wish me luck I can install those nicely!
