Hi Amy, Isn't Houzz fantastic - it's easy to spend hours here looking at ideas and hearing other peoples ideas. If you've not already done it, get the high pressure hose out and give the pebblecrete a clean to get the colours to come up (give the lower stones in your retaining wall a clean up too so you can check their colours). Looking at the colour of the pebblecrete now and seeing that the area will be shaded for at least part of the day and you won't want it to feel too dark - especially in winter, I'd go for the sandstone look unless it's completely at odds with the retaining wall. Most places selling pavers will sell you or give you a single paver that you can bring home to check the colours in situ. I'm sure that it will look fantastic when it's done.

Hello, Do you need those railings? I would get rid of them at least at the front of the house so you can see the facade better, and paint everything else white.

I’d suggest using pieces of plaster, painted in your chosen colours, to see what the colours look like in different rooms and at different times of the day. We were always going for Natural White which ended up having a pink tinge in certain light in our home. Our large back area is east facing (8m of glass stacking doors) with two south facing windows and two large skylights for northern light. Our colour consultant suggested Dulux Snowy Mountains Qtr strength and it is great for our home. Not stark (no blue/grey tinge) but definitely not too warm. We went all the same colour - walls, trims, ceilings - just in different finishes. Modern home with squareset ceilings. White is so hard. Good luck with your choice!

Yep , a modern charcoal ( a very dark grey ) with a modern door was one option Kate ( with the red and white canopies ) , the other was the existing door in crisp white with red diamonds . Darren thinks a charcoal garage door is bold , so I didn't want to suggest a bright orange garage door and front door and gutters too !
