we allowed ourselves to be persuaded into ceiling height tiles in a bathroom renovation and have regretted it ever since...apart from the extraordinary extra cost the builder also removed the lovely old cornice to square set the ceiling so although the builder think it looks great i miss the opportunity to add some paint or wallpaper that is much more appealing to me than feature tiles

Pro's - Modern Aesthetic, easy to clean.

Cons - Expensive.

we have just renovated our ensuite with floor to ceiling tiles and love it. Makes the small ensuite look bigger. I got the design from zephyr & stone, just twigged on my own bathroom fittings/tapware etc. I think it makes it look more like a luxury hotel instead of builders cheap tiles as before. photo shows

We added cornice onto our fully tiled bathroom last year which we like better than square set for our 1950s house. It is a personal choice and budget.
If you fully tile look at adding timber vanity to warm it up as per me’s photo.

What tiles are you using? The larger tiles can make it difficult to have breaks that make sense and going to the ceiling resolves this. I have floor to ceiling tiles in a small bathroom. I still like it. In a small space it gives consistency and it’s easy to clean. Like above I have a more traditional cornice matching the old cornices throughout the house. But for my next bathroom I’ll be having less tiles and adding VJ as well which also works with the house. Pick what works for your tiles and design. And as long as you avoid the basic package builders minimal tile layout, which screams cheap, you’ll be fine.

Floor to ceiling will definitely look more luxurious and like a complete design. However it can be time consuming and expensive. If you want to achieve same kind of look without too much cost, you can have a look at PVC shower wall panels which will be easier to install and maintain and cost less.
