Hi Bella, I’m a big fan of hidden doors and have had the pleasure of specifying them. I agree with Dr Retro that the knowledge and skills levels required would exceed most DIYers. If you have a door opening towards you, a normal hinge you will see the barrel of the hinge. If you push the door away from you open, a normal door has a jamb to stop the door moving back into the room when it closes. (Notice in your second photo there is no jamb). These issues have to be over come for the door to be practical, with the hinges being one aspect, and then an overall aesthetically pleasing design to help it seamless blend in. Get it right and they look fantastic (or rather you don’t notice them and then you know you’ve done a really good job!) Hi I have a large bathroom with a closet for washer and dryer. I love it. Off my bedroom. But also have you thought about making study into bedroom with an en-suite and the laundry tucked in there behind doors. If your selling a bedroom downstairs for an older person its very attractive and nice to be separate from the others. Then the two bedrooms upstairs have there own bathroom. Also you are having toilet tucked under staircase for visitors. If you had heaps of space then yes have a separate laundry but it’s a waste of space when you haven’t. I have my laundry essentials in a cupboard under my bathroom vanity which is 1800 cm long and still have two 1m drawers next to cupboard.

Great idea. Is there are dumb waiter lift, to get it back up there, once clean ....
