White glass splashback

Looking to choose a ’white’ glass splashback to go with our 2pac satin Lexicon Quarter kitchen cabinets. Have been turned off doing Lexicon Quarter as have been told it looks very different in glass (blue tinge)

I'm surprised your low iron splash back changed the colour so much, is it starfire? There are green and clear glass, but the thickness varies white the most. Trying to match your whites perfectly will always result in a slight variation, because the products different it's almost impossible. Very subtle tonal differences can be disguised if your splash back is enclosed or surrounded by joinery as the shadowing created allows for discrepancy. Otherwise, make colour difference intentional and find something that can coordinate and not copy the colour. Maybe mirror and remove colour from the equation

Hi, we recently built a home with a gorgeous white kitchen and bar with smokey mirror splash backs. Fair to say it has lots of wow factor and our clients tell us about the numerous compliments they receive. Cleaning isn't as much of a problem as you would think with this product. I agree that the floor is the problem. If you are short of cash, think about what your final aim is (a five-year plan?) and work towards that. Changing the cupboards and splash back are not going to have a big impact, as what you have is quite a classic look, but the floor is very ugly and outdated. No matter what you do or how much you spend, your kitchen will be dominated by the floor until you change it. Timber would be great because it would add softness, warmth and texture to the space, but obviously it depends on what other flooring you have and what your long-term plans are. Perhaps subway tiles would work as a splash back. To my eye glass would just look out of place with the style you have, plus it is expensive. You can buy lovely subway tiles very cheaply.

Great job on the kitchen and I agree with some of the former comments - a glass splash back would look good and the silver seems a good choice. If you decide to go with tiles I would suggest a White Tile with a smattering of Black and Grey markings with the colors prominent not subdued. I wouldn't think Brown but why not experiment with a few different colors and see how they look and in conjunction with other colors until you come up with a match. Only a small area but nice to get it just right first go. Good luck

to avoid the blue green tinge you have to use extra clear glass which is a bit more expensive but worth it

Splash back glass does not have the green tinge. It is available in a range of whites. Some with a sparkle effect as well. Clear glass is used not the glass with a green tinge. Contact your local splash back glass company for information on their range.

Hi HU-648758520, normal window glass is actually green however the type of glass that siriuskey and dreamer are referring to is a Low Iron Glass which is not a green glass but is actually colourless so the colour that you choose for a splashback is not distorted and remains true. This type of clear colourless glass is branded as Opti-Clear or Starphire or Crystal Clear Glass depending on the manufacturer. One of the great things about Glass Splashbacks is that they can be finished to any colour you desire. As dreamer suggested they can also be made with a Metallic (sparkle) effect such as that from the Dulux FX colour range where Whites look really good in this fine metallic finish.

Suggesting a colour for you is however difficult because your kitchen walls, floor, benches and cabinet faces will all throw colour into your room affecting how you see the chosen white on your splashback. Talking to a Splashback fabricator in your home for initial suggestions is a good option and having a Colour Sample made on Glass as Kate suggested is a good approach so you can see that chosen colour in your home first before you commit. (Some fabricators also have ready made samples which they can show you in your home that can be a time and cost saver if you find a colour they already have that works.)

Not all glass and suppliers are the same so be very careful with your choice. Because you are having a white splashback you need to understand exactly what you are ordering as the lighter the colour the more chance you have of showing the Green tint in the glass which looks terrible, good luck

@siriuskey, there is no green tint if the low iron glass is used. As per the post from @Compass Kitchens. I had a white sparkle splash back in my previous home. Low iron glass was used, and no green tint.
