Comments (33)I haven't read through all the posts but to me the first thing I saw was that you could continue the wall between the staircase and bedroom right through the bathroom to the outside wall, removing the bath altogether then remove the existing wall between the bathroom and ensuite. Next (presuming your plan is drawn to scale) theres room to rearrange your ensuite by putting the basin on the outside wall and moving the toilet and shower over to allow space to build a new wall allowing more room on the other side for the wiw. You could also remove the wall between the existing robe and ensuite and bathroom, giving even more rooom in both the enusite and the bathroom - or in your bedroom. Personally I prefer the ensuite as close to the robe as possible as opposed to the other end of the bedroom - solely for ease of use - finding clothes, dressing etc after showering etc. Also it would drive me nuts having to walk through my wardrobe to enter the bed room - no matter how tidy you may be, a wardrobe always ends up with shoes, shopping bags or whatever on the floor etc and if its your entry to the bedroom you can NEVER shut the door and worry about that later... Good Luck :)...See MoreMirror wardrobe doors - dilemma
Comments (8)Hi, suggestions - you could add panelling to make then look like french/ hamptons style mirror. you could install some ikea curtains and use as a back drop (block colour at back, sheer at front , must be very long.) . You could install barn style hinged doors. You could make it open shelving. You could remove altogether. You could add a nice wallpaper print to the doors, such as hamptons style blue and white or gold geometric and white. and match these colours to your cushions. I would only wall paper opposite wall if you keep the mirror. add a nice tall lamp to make the room bright and inviting and a throw on the couch. replace wall art. maybe paint the wall agreeable grey, reverve pewter or white. goodluck :-)...See MoreWardrobes marine plywood with veneer finish or laminate finish better
Comments (1)I gather these are not built-in wardrobes ? These would be more for older places that have no permanent wardrobes . Basically , it would come down to their intended use , and your preference . Marine ply may be able to be varnished or stained , to match the rest of your ( wooden ) furniture , but by your description , these are both marine ply on the exterior . That doesn't paint all that well from what I have found . Laminate on the inside sounds smoother . But if it is an older house , older manrobes or similar may suit the style better , but then you'd have to research costs and borer and styles . I'm pretty sure you can get fabric ones with a light frame too . But the best one would be the one YOU prefer ....See MoreMelanie Pope
