That is a hard one with those tiles. I would have to think if you did a white, it would kind of work with the colour of your tiles. At the end of the day, they do need to be replaces, but as you said, due to budgeting reasons, you cannot, I can pass on this photo of a nice bathroom with those tiles for you though for inspiration... : )

A three way bathroom can cost twice as much to tile than one large bathroom, ( sometimes more, depending on your tiles, there is a lot of cutting, it is in fact 3 rooms , each with its own tile bed, if you are doing it yourself, have a tiler give you a quote before , if you are having a professional business renovate in Sydney about $ 30K for all labour only. for a 3 way , this should be about $ 22/ $ 24 K for one large room, with nib wall vanity to toilet, niches to shower and bath, anything cheaper we would have doubt about quality of waterproofing, tiling, sound insulation To make a decision, go and sit on the edge of your bath by yourself and visualize your finished bathroom. one large ( less expensive room, ) or three small rooms. ON paper ideas can be appealing. Buying at the place where trade buys can keep cost lower. e.g Kaldewei Eurowa made in Germany steel bath 2.5 mm thick $ 400 You state it is your master bathroom,to us your master bathroom should have the look, if you go to sell your home this could make/ break the sale. Hi Tash, I would stick with the white paint. You have noted you want timber, marble, grey, white and brass in the space and I feel that if you now add a colour to the walls that doesn't blend with the tiles that sit on the same wall there will be too many finishes in the space. Quite a few manufacturers have tiles similar to the one in your image so I'd check with your local supplier. If you do go with the subway tiles perhaps look for a handmade style tile and lay them as a herringbone style with white grout to get the same textural look you are after. Good luck! Kate, are you able to post a picture of the internal bathroom that you say is too sterile. I also am having an internal bathroom and trying to decide tile heights. I have been given two different sets of advice on what to do. Feature tile is above a vanity with a round mirror skewed To left of vanity. My bathroom is only 1.55m deep. Tiles will be vertically stacked on feature wall using vanilla Brickart tile. Tile shop says to take feature tile to wall height of 2.7m and wrap it around walls just section where vanity is and then wall height in shower and no other tiles on wall. Tiger says to ceiling will be too much. Feature tile is creamy pale grey above timber vanity. It is always easier to decide what looks good for someone else as compared to self.
