Rumpus room conversion

Hello, I am really rather stuck & was hoping to find some inspiration here for a problem I’m having converting a rumpus room.

I am trying to convert my rumpus room, the 3x5.5m room into a bedroom with ensuite. The laundry still needs to be accessible via the door near the internal stairs. The toilet I was planning to include in the ensuite.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the challenge within the available space is to think of the bathroom as an ensuite instead of an planning and extra bedroom and bathroom...my suggestion would be to add a wall to create a private bedroom with space for a free standing wardrobe and chests of drawers as bedside tables.. add another wall across the new hall to allow for a bigger shower space (also allows for wider wall space in bedroom for a 1200 wide wardrobe) using a 1200 x 900 shower base and add an opening between new shower and toilet to install a glass wall with hinged door and waterproof and tile the shower recess.. there's not enough space in the new bathroom for a vanity so you could upgrade the laundry with wall to wall bench with underbench washer, drop in sink and wall cabinets for laundry and bathroom supplies

Agree. Was going for similar plan but extra robe in lieu of chair. 3m width is your constraint.
Another option for extra privacy layer to bed not bath is to add a wall reducing bed area to 3x3 and have robe at entry

Hi Charles, Firstly, I am not a designer or anything but I have just spent over 12 months planning & designing my house so I've looked at heaps of plans & I've done lots of research. This is what I have come up with.. I think you can leave it with the same layout and just extend the wall off the rumpus. Yes it eats in to you bi-fold doors but I have a plan to counteract that & not sacrifice the light & open plan. Using corner stacker doors (much cheaper than bi-fold) will open this space right up to the alfresco area. Not sure what you had planned for this area but if you were planning on having a built in bbq area it could be done on the back of the rumpus room wall (in the space where I extended the wall). I also think you will have more flexibility if you have doors entering the rumpus rather than sliding doors as you can use the wall space without having to worry about the wall cavity. I printed your plan off & had a play so check it out & see what you think. I will not be offended however if you don't like my ideas as its your house & it needs to suit you & your family. In the process of adding a rumpus room. We want one whole wall, about 3.5 mtrs to be shelving for toys etc and include a work desk/table. This area will be about 1mtr deep and we want to be able to close it off with sliding doors. We'd like some suggestions on shelving and types of doors available.

If there was enough space to move the laundry to the other side of the wall into a cabinet in the kitchen dining using the same plumbing would free up more space for the Master Suite
