fascia trim colour dilemma!!

We have a midcentury style house with a skillion roof, originally with box gutters, and white fascia. The house is on a bushy block in a suburban setting. As part of extensive renovations we are getting a new roof. The house has the original aluminium windows, we are about to replace these windows with hardwood windows. and thought we might paint the axon cladding in a pale green. We are struggling to decide on the fascia colour. While it would seem the usual thing to do would be to clad the fascia's in surfmist, there wont be any other white trim and in this setting the white gets quite dirty..We have been thinking about a darker fascia. We had been thinking about Colourbond Basalt. but are wondering if monument might be a better choice.. Will Basalt look like we were a little wishy washy rather than going with the darker monument? Thoughts please?!

Great house, beautiful leafy position, you could go a darker colour for your cladding which will look beautiful with the timber windows, it’s a great idea to get help from a colour consultant for inspiration

Thank you Julie.i do love the look of the dark coloured homes with timber windows. We were thinking that we might like to have some lightness in colour hence a lighter green paint on the cladding. We are still feeling unsure about the fasia colour. A colour cosultation is a great idea, we should have considered this, unfortuately we now dont have time poor planning on our side. happy to hear any other ideas!

Thanks swich5 - I don't want a domestic either (and I liked the dark colour too so I'm just rolling with it! If it is hot in the summer I'm hopeful it will make it warmer in winter...?) BTW, a friend of ours has used Surfmist Colourbond for her roof and as a feature on the sides of her house and it doesn't look coloured or creamy - comes out very neutral, more a very pale, weathered galvanised iron sort of grey, and might work well for your roof. Thanks for your thoughts here Julie. I agree the darker colour does create a more dramatic and elegant look. I think I am more concerned that the portico being such a large imposing structure may end up looking too dark. Most of the time with something completely different its more a case of it growing on you I suppose and I would need to replicate the same colour with all my wood beams on eaves down the sides of house, gutters and pergola. I been told to keep it simple with one colour for everything. would you agree?

No to terracotta, that would be closer to your gutter guard that doesn’t work with your bricks and would be the first thing I’d address. You could square up the bricks around the garage doors and modernise the front door screen. The roller doors could be more modern too, although they look fine and what they are.

Hi guys, I'm just wanting a bit of advice regarding exterior paint colours. We're building a weatherboard house and wanting to go for a light colour scheme. I'm thinking surfmist for the roof and gutters and dover white for the garage door. I'm wanting white window trims and fascia with off white/warmer white weatherboards. Potentially something like Dulux snowy mountains or snowy mountains half for the weatherboards. With the white fascia and window trims would you suggest matching it to the garage door i.e. dover white? Or is there another white that might look better? Thanks 😊

Found this colour combination on the Dulux website, unfortunately it didn’t list the colours but if you contact them I am sure they would be able to help, it’s also possible to match by taking a photo from your phone to a paint shop

The fascia can match the gutter or the cladding colour. No need to introduce a third colour.
