Putting the final touches on our new kitchen and I find your post. I had the same dilemma about a week ago. What to do with off white cupboards? Bold or classic? Glass or tiles? Matt or gloss? In the end this is what I went with. Different but neutral. And it gave it a lift which I was happy with. In our old house we had a black glass splash back and the glass was the worst thing possible to clean! First clean and then buff and u could see every smear. It was exhausting but I hear lighter colours are easier to maintain. Whatever you choose go with your gut instinct. It's your house and only you have to really like it. Tiles were from national tiles about $110m2. Can't wait to see what you choose.

Personally I think the tiles will be to busy if you go dark tile and white grout. I am about to order a smoked mirror splash back for my new white and charcoal kitchen, but I am getting patterned stainless bench tops and have rimu floors and trims, I like you was in a real dilemma with my splash back, but had a very clear mind with everything else. All the best with your project.

Cherry Pop - great looking tiles, however your decsion to use them as splashback will depend on their size and the height of the available area to tile. With such a strong pattern you don't want to trim a tile to fit the height. The ideal solution would be to install the window so that the distance between the underside of the window architrave, near the bottom of the window, and the installed benchtop is exactly one tile in height. This will need some careful measurement and juggling of trades to get it perfect. Or you could change your pool tile to be less of a feature such as this simple, white, square, contemporary mosaic. As it is smaller, and has no pattern then it doesn't matter if a row needs to be trimmed to fit in the available wall space. Best of luck, Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls

Thank you all for feedback. I was initially having white subway with maybe grey/charcoal grout but then decided that I didn’t really want tiles or more so grout to clean. That is why I thought of going with glass or acrylic. I then thought that The sample of white herringbone in the glass was maybe best option - but concerns that it will look too fake being tile pattern. So confused - can’t decide
