Help! Which colours go with these bathroom tiles?
Comments (78)That is a hard one with those tiles. I would have to think if you did a white, it would kind of work with the colour of your tiles. At the end of the day, they do need to be replaces, but as you said, due to budgeting reasons, you cannot, I can pass on this photo of a nice bathroom with those tiles for you though for inspiration... : )...See MoreHelp! Comments (51)Sounds like a very stressful situation! If there is absolutely no way the builder will allow you to change things (even if they did, I imagine they would ask you to foot the entire bill of pulling the tiles down and replacing all water proofing in addition to new tiles), I can make a few suggestions for improvement. Firstly I would suggest replacing the tiles above the vanity with a white mosaic, a patterned or a textured feature tile/strip. You could also use this same tile to replace the vertical feature in the shower. There are some beautiful shapes and sizes available to choose from. Secondly I would address the grout situation in this way: Floor - dark colour grout & Walls - Light colour grout. Lastly if it does not prove too difficult or expensive, maybe replace the tiles below the vanity with a plain white tile (could be similar size). Good luck and I am sure once you have a lovely mirror up and some crisp white towels, it will look just wonderful....See MoreOur tiles were laid incorrectly
Comments (16)Cat, in any build or renovation there is always something that doesnt go to the perfect plan. I nearly had the wrong tile placed in my butlers pantry as opposed to my laundry which would have been a disaster - they actually had started in the pantry with the very expensive made to order tile for the laundry and wasted 5 of the 600 x 300 tiles. Just as well the building supervisor checked again with me and there were still enough tiles left. In your case at least they put the correct tile in it just depends how strongly you feel and if this pattern hasn’t grown on you by now then it most probably wont. If it was me in your shoes I would stick what I had originally planned and envisioned and hold back final payment until the job was rectified....See MoreHelp - has my builder made a mistake?
Comments (4)Hi Hu, In terms of shower placement - not necessarily. It can be where ever you wanted it and common sense will prevail. A consideration with the smart tile grates (dependent on which you use) sometimes they dont allow the water to escape fast enough. They have a tendency to sit low in the cradle and inhibit the water drainage. If the water is sitting around your feet the drainage point would seem to be in the right place. It could be a partially blocked drain and that can be myriad of reasons. There are silicon seals that clip on the door that will stop water (nearly always a problem with frame-less screens) escaping. But please talk to your Builder and get him/her to examine the problem. Ask your Builder to get the plumber back to check it out for you. I hope this is helpful. Cheers Trevor...See Moremacyjean
