Ignore the mess 😅 I want better lighting in this area and wondering if I should down lights only or also a pendant or more above the bench? It’s a tiny kitchen- would it clutter the space (further?)
Love the idea of rattan pendants over dining table, put your items on fridge into nifty folders inside cupboard door, this way everything always looks neat and is at your fingertips
3 pendants done above the island would be great IMO -- downlights have no real feature to them , they just do their job . But pendants add a touch of style and drama if done right , and even bring in some colour , which , without being too rude , isn't the existing designs strong point !
And whilst not part of the brief , but why have that gap above the cupboards ? I realise you have greenery there , but its pretty much a waste of valuable storage space , and it may make pendants or even downlights look a bit odd and disjointed !
I love your little seedlings hanging in front of the window, where did you get them.
I would suggest a simple long Bar style light hanging over the island
Need help for kitchen pendant lights - do I match dining pendant???
Pendant lights above kitchen island bench... Advice!!
Pendant Light Combination
We need advice to choose 3 Pendant lights for kitchen.
Thanks for your ideas!!@pottsy99 Hmm good point about the gap up the top! This is a recent purchase, so I bought it this way!! Including it’s very neutral look :-) It does need the space above the oven range (I think?) as it’s not vented out the wall or anything. But never thought about the gap being a waste of space or making lights look odd!
The greenery is simply because I have too many plants and too little space 😅
@siriuskey I purchased the propagation hanger from amazon!
I agree, I thought a long bar style might be the way to go too..
I was thinking of going for a bit of a coastal vibe in this place because he seems to lend itself to it.. (??) and we’re close to the beach.
Would a simple long bar style light suit that style? I’m terrible with these things!!
Can you find a piece of gnarled up old driftwood a metre or so long ? It will be the basis of a pendant/drop light , a work of art , a talking point !
Hmm maybe that would be too coastal 😅 it’s a small space all around the area.I’m now thinking more about the space above the cupboards and wonder if something more simple/Nordic would work?Otherwise, I really like rattan. But I think I will do that over the dining table which is close by and choose something here that is long, but simple.. hmm.
Something like this for the kitchen?
Although I like the rattan look..
Keeping it minimalistic will look great , bar or strip lighting will add a beautiful look.
