Anne, go have a good look at new sinks, when I did my kitchen renovation I loved my sink and there was very little similar on the market so as I thought mine was fine I wanted to keep it. The plumber had to remove it to replace the bench tops and could not guarantee it would not be damaged because of the sealing necessary around sinks. When I saw the new ones though and later seeing it in my kitchen, the old one would have just been so wrong, it would have really let the whole kitchen down because it made the old one look so sad in comparison. A new bench top has to be cut for a sink anyway so the old one should survive any alternations IF you have a good tradie doing it. I painted first but I ended up selling the house before I did the flooring so I didn't sand. That issue was raised but don't think there is a problem, they can sand to the skirting without damage. Check with a floor sander to be sure. This is a photo I took of my old pantry before I finished filling it though. This is only half of it, the other side is mirror reversed, but you can get the idea of how each shelf can be adjusted and you can fill the shelves with like sized items. I did not think of this, the kitchen people just did it and I was so grateful because of the way it turned out. I think the shelves are about 350mm deep - held all my big things, but wasn't so deep I couldn't see everything clearly. For cleaning it was easy to just empty a shelf and take it out too which really made the bottom shelves easy to get to and clean.

yes but I think it depends what market you are likely to be seeking in. if it's not family home market but more up market retirees then a glam spacious bathroom will win more plaudits from buyers than a cramped make-do space. I just strongly feel you should design your bathroom so it is a pleasure to use every day not just the one day a year you may want a bath (plus much as I like the style of bathroom Siriuskey has posted they really don't beg out for bathing in). But a vanity space where you can even have your own toothpaste if you like stripey and he likes plain and all stored neatly away so they never have to appear on display together and with a shower you can lift your arms up in is priceless if you ask me.

we've had a full height window in a shower overlooking a gorgeous bush view and the only concession to privacy was to install a roller blind that could be used if/when needed (for more discreet visitors and at night looking out felt a little exposed) have the two windows the same height and tiled into the reveals and consider a walk in shower with the shower grate against the outside wall although you should consult a plumber and tiler before committing to any ideas as there will be potential restrictions with drainage ..i would be inclined to have a tall narrow louvre window between the toilet and the post and same height fixed panel in the shower although the best size and shape will be decided by structural decisions and budget but a triangular fixed glass panel above both windows would look spectacular...i've also suggested moving the entry for a more generous shower space with the post enclosed, 1200 wide wall hung vanity for your exciting basin and in wall mirror doored wall cabinet to reflect the view to be seen from the loo

No-one seems to have talked budget . Where I'd start is actually leave the actual room as it is for a start . Eh ? Yep . Take down the nothing curtains . Go for bright colour curtains , depending on the rest of your house . Personally , I'd go for red , or white . Or red and white vertical striped . But yellow , orange , blue , green would all work . A leather lounge suite in white or red , or possibly black . A leafy pot plant in a colourful pot . And then -- a big abstract picture in complimentary colours on the brick wall -- around 1.8mtr x 1.2mtr or similar . Lighting -- stainless designer 12volt spotlights , 3 or 4 on each light . You can point and position to suit , highlight and hide features , and thge lights themselves look good without being instrusive or knocking your head . Basics done for $2k plus furniture !
