Comments (6)For a budget friendly, do it yourself update, paint and replacement of a few items. As your shower screen has a silver/steel frame, update the handle on the vanity/mirror cabinet, the taps, toilet roll holder and towel rails to stainless steel. As you have a terracotta tile on your floor, choose a warm white such as Dulux 'Natural White' or 'Whisper White', Resene 'Quarter Bianca' or Sherwin Williams 'Fundamental White'. Then you will be able to use any colour for your towels/floor mats....See MoreSmall bathroom reno
Comments (30)Thank you :) still a bit to do, so will post another photo of the finished product (when we eventually get there!). Unsure of the cost of the skylight as that was already installed when we purchased the house. The floor tiles are standard 300x300 rectified porcelain, and the wall 300x600... I'm sorry I can't remember the names of them. They were purchased from Swan Ceramics in Perth though. If I happen to find the receipt I'll be sure to post on here the product names :)...See MoreCharacter bathroom with issues
Comments (22)I am going to be the odd man out...I greatly admire dark painted vanities: charcoal, navy, dark grey, even a mid grey, but I certainly understand restored timber would also be beautiful. If you were to do this, I would also paint the mirror frame in same colour. I am not sure you will achieve a particularly good result by painting the decorative tiles. For one thing it would be almost impossible to match the colour to existing tiles perfectly. I did this recently in an old kitchen (using linen colour chalk paint) and the outline of decoration still shows, and I painted the entire backsplash. In saying that, it was a good temporary fix for our purposes. The painter who painted the interior of this same older house recommended I paint the rather ugly old kitchen floor tiles, and he named a paint but I can't recall it just now. I like your idea about painting your floor light grey. I viewed the drivenbydecor link provided above in another post and was impressed with the results. It's worth a shot. Would also contrast beautifully with a dark painted vanity, hint hint....See MoreKate
