Thank you for your message. That's right, they plan to upgrade the fridge later. We have already provided additional space and plumbing incase they need that for the new fridge.

So now you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the laundry........mmmm. I prefer the entrance to laundry from hall. Having the entrance through the kitchen loses kitchen storage space.

Appreciate your thoughts on this. Well, everyone has different style of working. If laundry was the focus that would be better. In this case it was more to function as the Pantry than a laundry and this suits them perfectly. They do a lot of entertaining and wanted a Pantry space with additional storage and bench space. It is customised for their needs and requirements.

You could of kept the laundry hall access as well. Now all the dirty laundry, sheets, etc has to be taken through the kitchen, and back the same way. You can’t take something discreetly into the laundry when having guests, because they are probably sitting facing the kitchen area.

I kind of get the butlers pantry but still not sure if any extra storage and the door doesn’t add to experience . I’d have gone a square island, and at least moved the toilet door into the dead hall.

Not only a pretty strange design IMO , but the colours seem all over the place .

The cupboards at the rear look a deep black , the bench looks more a grey and even a slight blue tinge on the end ( I assume it is the same all over , just looks different in different light ? ) .

Then the splashback has brownish almost military khaki tones , and the blind is a sort of beigey brown , the floor is a sort of almond colour while that door is a different tone again . Then most of the appliances ( cooktop etc ) look black , except the curved glass and stainless range hood . At least the cupboard handles stick to the black theme , but again it could be a trick of the light , but the ones along the cooktop side look narrower than the 'island' side ones .

To me , it looks like someone has looked at brochures and picked 1 category , someone else a 2nd , someone else yet another lot -- no continuity .

Client being happy is the most important thing

I’m hoping the pantry/laundry door swings into the laundry. Otherwise it could be a dangerous situation if someone is trying to get a curry casserole out of the oven. Doesn’t seem enough room to actually stand in front of the oven. It may just be the photo. Appears that the oven door would take up the room. Unless it’s one of those ovens that the door slides back inwards. Otherwise it would be ergonomically incorrect to be standing to the side of the oven.
