Hi Bella, this is very small so storage and minimalism are helpful. I would use a circular table- less of a footprint with more surface area. Nothing on the wall that backs the kitchen- it is a hallway really- perhaps a mirror to create depth as well as interest as you enter the front door. Multi functional furniture- ottoman that doubles as seating and storage, sofa that contains storage or second bed. Worth considering a tall shallow(280mm deep) cabinet behind the sofa- you would get great storage if you had plenty of shelves and only lose 28cm from the overall length of the room. Obviously the lower section is covered, but still useful in such a small space. Custom built cabinet for t.v etc in the recess- go all the way to the ceiling to maximise this obvious space opportunity. Good luck,

You have a large open area that could benefit from a little more zoning starting with the bbq and undercover area. If you could build in the bbq and add some bench seating which overlooks the back yard and add some vertical planters for herbs or succulents to separate this area. Zones create interest and you may enjoy the separation from the play areas while still maintaining supervision. Plants along the fence could certainly be a variety of lilly pilly or what about some citrus trees like limes for the cocktails, lemons for the salad dressing etc? Raised vegie gardens? A feature tree would be nice too but not sure what suits your area. Magnolias are very beautiful and the flowers are divine!

This is what I thought might work for your room, I have it at 4m wide? Rember that you have to allow for the curved step up at each side. Your TV console with the TV on it or on the wall if enough space. You could try the furniture you already have to see what it feels like. This room will carry a lot of through traffic I'am thinking so a path way through it would be a good idea. cheers

Hello Maria, AAHH the old L shape lounge/ dining that NEVER worked! It was always just a walk thru with no where to place furniture. Blocking off to the kit is a good start. How to use the space is entirely up to you and what you like to do, want to do, have lots of folks in the home needing to do? How many live there? which way is north, would you like a pantry or bigger/newer kitchen? What happens in the rest of the plan? All bedrooms used or would you like an ensuite: I have seen this arrangement changed into a master, robe and ensuite very successfully. Personally I could fill it with book shelves, a very comfy chair, rug and table for cuppa and you would never hear a peep out of me again!! But it is a long way to the kettle: maybe a door would help! a little more info would bee good please.... Is the area outside the kitchen to the left of pix above a social area: could this open onto that? I'm sorry too many questions but it is the best way to get it right for you! Cheers Margot
