We are renowned an old 1970s home. Some areas of the house have brown wood vertical panels (hallway & main toilet) which we are painting as a cheaper option to ripping down and re plastering the walls (its heavily glued and rips off chunks when pulled off).
I wanted to put panelling in some other areas so continue the theme through (in the scullery wall rather than tiling to keep costs down and in the laundry for same reason). Hubby is a carpenter so can instal panelling alot cheaper than we can do tiles.
My query is this - does all the panelling have to be the same orientation in the differences areas of the house or if the hallway/toilet panels are vertical could I do horizontal panels in the scullery, to give the illusion of a wider scullery
