Soft greys are back in fashion too so don't overlook Ironstone, Basalt and Wallaby( the web link shows what I mean by those colour titles) if you are stuck with the blue door it can be hard to coordinate with blue but you can alter its shade slightly by a freshen-up coat of the original colour or a tone or two darker or a few drops of black (and I mean drops) is amazing the depth it adds to a paint tone without changing the overall colour.

Hi Jaynecam, We agree with the above suggestions of using a light grey and white colour pallet. You could also try a darker grey shade for the house which would contrast nicely with a white staircase. These shades would also work well with the brick driveway. The architecture of your home is wonderful, but the blue is just so wrong in so many ways. "Monument" is a very on-trend colour and is used a lot in contemporary architecture, perhaps too much! It is not the right choice for the style of your home. A lot of your features have carved openings in the timber, and these openings can only be appreciated when the paint colour is light. If you paint these elements "Monument" these features will disappear as there is not enough contrast between the timber and the carved opening, which always looks dark. With so much happening in your elevation, I would go simpler with paint (which your painters will prefer). I would suggest choosing a light monochromatic scheme, such as one of the cool whites from Dulux for all the timber that is currently painted, possibly one of the Lexicon strengths. Whatever colour you choose make sure it works with the elements that you are not painting, such as the decking, the timber ceiling to the porch and the gutter and roof. With your home, the feature is the contrast in light and shade between the timber work and the shaded spaces behind the timber, and you need to make the most of it. Picking out elements in different colours will make it look too busy (as it is now). A simple monochromatic colour scheme is best for your beautiful home - classic, timeless and elegant. Dont rely on google images, they are heavily edited and inaccurate, definately order swatches for accurate comparison. Below is a photo of Dulux Elements powder coating swatches which I have in my office - in the photo you can see (and from my own perspective of this colour) up close Surfmist is definately not 'white' but search the images on the web and yes it looks white (FYI first colour is 'Basalt', second colour 'Surfmist', third colour 'Black' and fourth colour 'Monument') Below also is one of my company's recent projects, chairs in Surfmist and tables in Monument, but looking at the image you'd swear it was 'white and black'. Before you decide Id suggest getting the actual powder coat swatches from Dulux which you can order via their website and then you can compare them and decide. Note: Colorbond Surfmist / Monument and Dulux are the same tone. Good luck!
