Everyday Luxury - Bathrooms + Powder Room Transformation

Our clients came to us after discovering water leakages in their current bathrooms, rather than just repairing the issue, decided it was a chance to upgrade them. They had all seen better days, and were dark and dingy and lacked continuity with the rest of the home. The other areas of the client's home were beautiful and incorporated colour and we wanted to make sure that was injected into the bathrooms as well.

This project proved quite challenging due to COVID restrictions and supplier delays but we managed to keep the process moving through all stages, even adapting our process', selecting the stone over zoom with our supplier, and arranging lots of tile samples to be sent to us directly. We were lucky with our network, of supplies and trades everything came together on time.

These spaces also include lots of special fixtures and finishes sourced in Australia, from the stunning handblown lights from Currumbin QLD, as well as the cabinetry and tap ware all sourced locally from Melbourne suppliers.

.lots of great changes much much improved. . The half wall to hide the toilet in ensuite . The modern drain pipe under powder room sink exposed is much nicer although I’d have looked for a larger basin for function but it is lovely. . Not sure of the white towel rail in ensuite.

The project looks very week executed with nice quality finishes. I might have made slightly different colour choices in some areas but I think you've created great rooms.

Don't try to bypass the approvals process as it will come back to bite you on the bum when it comes to selling your home. Nobody wants to buy real esate that has illegal construction so it will actually devlaue your home. The requirements for approvals vary from state to state, and sometimes even council to council. However with the type of boundary construction, and the length of it will probably require DA approval in most areas of Australia. Best to have a friendly, informal chat with one of the planners at council who should be able to advise you in the requirements for your locality. Or enage a local architect/designer who is familiar with terrace house renovations, who will handle the design, documentation and permit applications for you. Nothing wrong with any of the upgrades , all fairly standard , but the use of colour and textures and different materials definitely lifts it .

The main bathroom countertop looks too budget for the rest IMO -- a more exciting colour and even texture would have helped a lot -- look at the ensuite or powder room by way of comparison !

And like Kate -- why have gold and rose gold tones everywhere in the ensuite , and a budget white towel rail ? It may have been expensive , but it looks budget because of the colour -- spend $100 or so more to have a classier look that ties in with the theme .

And a peeve of mine -- the walls and ceiling in exactly the same shade . It doesn't 'open up' an area , it doesn't look 'clever' or 'modern' or 'hidden' or 'cutting edge' IMO -- it just looks like you've run out of ideas and can't be bothered , to me .
