Teensy powder room - how to modernise
Comments (36)True, if they want frou frou, then definitely go for something else, these sinks are more space design oriented and for the environmentally responsible, but not necessarily pretty. A woman using them may find it unattractive & maybe even uncomfortably odd. But personally, as a man, using a powder room full of scented candles and lace makes me feel the same way! Ha! I would've agreed with you a month ago about the wallpaper & only reason I suggested it was I recently used that exact one at a dinner party (where one of the owners was an interior designer! But maybe that means braver with risks?) I actually found instead of having the size make an impression, I was busy being wowed by the wallpaper, it WAS overwhelming, but in a pleasant way that made such an impression I remembered it for this post! Anyways, it's fun to hear everyones suggestions! cheers!...See Morepowder room vs bathroom
Comments (8)with the luxury of so much space it could be possible to have a room that includes a spacious powder room with plumbing included for a modest shower space with plumbing and floor and walls properly waterproofed and, while you don't need the shower, use the space as a storage area so that future owners may simply replace the door with glass and add wall tiles and taps...the small enclosed shower space also creates a more private toilet, tucked out of sight of the open door but, obviously, arrangements depends on the shape of the room and location of existing door and windows...See Morepowder room advice please!
Comments (3)Is the window just what we can see in the picture, ie it's high up and would be above the vanity mirror? If so, I wouldn't worry, I'd put in one large mirror with a beautiful frame, which matches the width of the plantation shutters, or, one which is narrower and then hang a beautiful pendant lights from the ceiling, either side of the mirror. I'd also go with a vanity which has legs on it. Maybe a "Hamptons" style...See MoreHelp squeezing powder room into floor plan
Comments (24)Hi Siriuskey, I thought the playroom and study were under the bedroom section only. The plan doesn't show any external stairs up to the porch and front door, so they look like being at ground level. Lumpets would know if my comment has any relevance or not. If this is a real issue I would recommend not having the L return bench in the new kitchen (corner cupboards are always impractical expensive compromises IMHO), and instead use that space for the powder room. then the drain can go through the outside wall to the right without cutting into the slab. If there are no problems running that drain under the floor the other position that you and Dr Retro have suggested would definitely still be better, with the door to the powder room off a more neutral space opposite the internal stairs....See MoreC P
